Mother came to Little Rock last week. On Sunday Jake, Rae, Mother and I drove up to Fayetteville to see Alex. We had a great stay with him, ate some good Catfish fillets, and drove back on Monday through Eureka Springs and then through the central part of the Ozarks. Awesome trip, great weather - good fun was had by all. Kirk.
Cathy and I had a wonderful time this past weekend with Mira up at the ranch. We left early from work on Friday and we stopped by Hawes Corner which is on the way. Hawes is a ranch feed and supply company but every year they transform themselves into a Halloween amusement destination. We rode the pumkin train, played in the corn barn, Mira rode a pony and "Grandma" and Mira even went down the giant inflatable slide...many times! We ended up picking 63 pounds worth of pumpkins which "Grandpa" carved into fun jack o lanterns. The weekend was topped off on Sunday with a great visit with our neighbors (Joe and Vivian) where Vivian took Mira out horseback riding on Mythical. It was a great time!
This week we will be starting to burn all of the brush that we have cut or knocked down this past year. The "burn" season starts on November 1st. We keep trying to groom the land! I know it may sound crazy but I love working up at the ranch especially when the weather is nice!
